Box Thoughts
February 10, 2015

Things I never thought I would have to make decisions about….

  • How easy is it to find .NET developers to support an existing environment?
  • What’s the value of adding a new field in a database versus cannibalizing an old one?
  • How do you judge the relative value/cost of a user of a system?
  • How do you price a new tool when you have no idea about potential market response?
  • What’s the best way to describe an really broad and comprehensive technology platform in 1 page?
  • When is something ready for real life users?  (Corollary: what is the 70% mark of a newly built system?)
  • How long should the Beta test be?  (Follow-up:  Apparently longer than anticipated judging by the queue of fixes requested.)
  • How do you keep a complicated process simple enough to manage in an online application?
  • What is simple?
  • Where’s the line between innovation and enhancement?  Does it matter?

Just some things that I’m thinking on today….
