Yes it’s cheesy, but I’m a very thankful man this year. It’s probably been the toughest year of my career but everything seems to be coming to a tipping point (in a good way). Some of my personal milestones include:
- This year was the 2 year anniversary of my marriage. I love you babe! Couldn’t have lived through all this without you.
- Made Gold on Delta for the first time (my arms are very tired).
- I sold projects! and got a pseudo-promotion.
- Learned the difference between working hard on regular projects and working hard while doing the soft “squishy” stuff.
- Learned quite a bit about the world. Sometimes it’s a good and decent place but usually it’s just a place full of neutral but misinterpreted interactions.
- Reduced my time spent on Facebook – only to replace it by time spent on G+.
- Reconnected with some old friends and built a whole hell of a lot of new connections. Need to figure out which LinkedIn protocol I want to use….
- Got addicted, unaddicted and re-addicted to Minecraft. (Soon to be unaddicted again……is this an addiction or a habit?)
- Almost at 5 years at my current job (January 2nd). Who said Gen Y job hops?
- Hit an average of 55 hours per week. Who said Gen Y is lazy?
It’s amazing how this world turns. I can’t imagine what the next year holds. But I’m thankful for this one even though my sanity sometimes questions why.
