Taking on a slightly different focus this year.

As some of you have probably noticed, I’ve been a little light in publishing posts this year so far.  It has been an interesting year.

This year, more than almost any other, my focus has shifted away from real estate technology and more to strategy.  I haven’t created a new dashboard or mock-up in months.  It’s a little weird and different.  This coincides with a change in role that is still on-going.

I’ve always said technology must support process first and foremost.  I’m in the middle of living that.  When the job is to get something done you use the best tools at hand.

Anyway, this shift has led to me needing to figure out new things to write about which has been a bit of a struggle.  It shouldn’t be as surely my challenges should yield ample opportunities for thoughts.  Unfortunately it’s been the opposite.  Historically I write about the positives – things that are good and making a pro-active difference.  I have tended to stay way from challenges as they could be read as being about someone or something that I’m actively trying to work through.  Not necessarily the type of thing I like to publish.
