The sky is overcast and gloomy outside my window right now. Thunder is rolling through and rain just started pouring down. On the surface, it’s a great example of what it feels like in the world right now: gloomy. I sent what it looks like outside to a friend who simply replied back “flowers are happy.”
That comment hit like a lightning bolt out of my sky. It may be gloomy right now, but it is laying the groundwork for something beautiful to come through. It takes a few rainy days to keep the world running as expected.
Sometimes we get hurricanes, sometimes tornadoes, and sometimes global pandemics that force us inside. But through it all, we are a resilient community. The world is built to pick up the pieces and move forward once the time comes. It may be rough for a little while, but this time will allow us to come back more resilient than we were before.
As they say, “April showers bring May flowers.” We may not be through all of the current situation come May, but before long there will be light at the end of this tunnel. The world is not going to end. Our flowers will bloom before it’s all over.
