When friends get married it’s not possible to work through the festivities. It’s the ultimate reason to shut off the computer, turn the critical assignments over to others, and bust a move or three in a safe place among friends. It’s hard though if you haven’t learned to trust others with your work. Just as you need to have the people you can call on when times are tough, you have to be able hand things off and let it be.
This was the first time in my career that I physically could not get the work out that needed to be done and I had to turn it over. My ability to trust has gone up tremendously as I saw the product coming out without my input and without needing me for pieces of it. What a great feeling! I’m going to need to learn to delegate more and hopefully this was the best first step. If you can’t delegate yet, is it a you problem?
