Remember back when HD TV was first coming out and people were wondering if there would be enough difference between it and regular TV for everyone to rush out and buy the new sets? There were a lot of people on the fence about it. The common question was: do we really want to be able to see every wart on the actors’ faces? Turns out the answer was yes.
Is 1GB fiber to the home the next HD TV? I think yes. Moving from 1MB to 10MB is eh. But from 10MB to 1GB I think the net impact to service will change how people think about the internet. Is a few seconds of buffer really that bad? Nah, but imagine never having to buffer a video at all…..that’s change worth buying (especially if Google is willing to actually SAVE me money versus my current provider).
My only question…..when is Google coming to Columbia SC?
