End of the Google Reader Era #savegooglereader

As I was catching up on the news of the day last night I came across this MOST disturbing news from Google.  They are ending the Google Reader service in July.

I have been using this service since it first came out in 2008.  Finding ways to consume large volumes of posts, articles, images, etc. in an easy way has always been difficult.  Google Reader made it all possible.  At this point I have ~65 different sources of news that I consume daily.  But doing that through Reader has been so easy that it has seemlessly integrated in with my normal day.

Now (on this Pi Day 2013) I begin the search for a new consumption service.  I’ve tried to use Twitter but the headline model doesn’t fit the way I consume news.  I’ve tried other RSS services but haven’t enjoyed the interfaces.

If you have any recommendations I would love to hear them.
