#CRE Videos – doing video right is hard.

Video is something that everyone is trying to do.  But in CRE too many fall back on bad, cliched ideas with poor execution.  How many times can we watch the video of the star executive making the pitch on why you should choose them?  If I wanted that, I’d invite you to visit me in person to give your pitch.

The other side is the generic video that doesn’t actually say anything.  In the example below, there is at least  production value and personality but if I’m in the market I may or may not call them but it probably wouldn’t be because of their video.

Or the better way is to teach while showing real examples of what you do and how you do it.  Teaching is the best way to promote action – it gets you the phone call, it encourages questions.  Check out this offereing from SLARC.  It may be a bit long but I left it feeling like I understood exactly what they would be doing for me if I called them.  They provided me with reasons to follow-up.

Video is critical in modern marketing.  But bad video is worse than having no video at all.  And sadly a lot of people who put out videos don’t realize what a bad video looks like.
