#Communication….why is it sometimes so difficult?

Funny thing this week.  Flew to a nice little (ok, big) city for a client meeting.  Show up to the site and spend 20 minutes trying to get past security to the lobby.  Turns out the meeting was supposed to be in a city about 1,000 miles away.

Looking back no one every confirmed or threw out a location for the meeting.  Both sides assumed they simply knew the answer by default.  Well – not so much.  We were all able to make the best of the situation, have a few laughs and proceed with a web/video conference instead.  We (the vendor) sat in one of the client’s conference rooms without any client reps (first time for that for me).

Turned out well but certainly provided a valuable lesson – always confirm an address before getting on the plane!

(Thankfully I wasn’t the one who booked it or I may not have found it quite so humorous.)
