2020 was a tough year across the board for people personally and professionally, emotionally and logically, friends and family. There are no good circumstances that we can draw from to help us collectively get through the on-going pandemic. However, I draw faith from the fact the people are resilient. We bounce back from things we have no business bouncing back from. We brush off blows that should rightly knock us down. When we see others struggling, we lend them strength. If ever there has been a year to reach out a hand (figuratively since the literal outstretched hands may be against the rules depending on your bubble), this is the one.
THANK YOU to everyone who has landed here and is reading this. I appreciate you. I want the best for you. I want to help where I can. It’s been hard, even for people not directly impacted personally this year.
THANK YOU to the people who have kept their balance when knocked for several loops a day during the crux of this crisis. Together, we have been able to keep things on the rails.
THANK YOU to the teams around me that have not let the change and impact overwhelm them. It can be difficult to take things one day at a time but we have.
THANK YOU to everyone who has not given up when they wanted to. There were plenty of moments along the way where we could have just thrown our hands up and said “to hell” with it.
It may not be over yet, but we have learned that we can fight. We have learned that we are stronger together than we thought. Things will get back to normal one day and we’ll look back and laugh in the face of COVID-19 (eventually).
These lessons are ours forever. No one can take away the growth from these challenges. It may be hard to be thankful right now because things were never good or easy or right, but one day you may find yourself thankful for aspects of it despite it all.
