A #CRE New Years Clean-up

Everyone makes personal New Year’s resolutions.  But I can’t recall ever seeing departmental resolutions or organizational resolutions.  Which is sad because the New Year is a great time to roll out new ways of thinking.

From a process standpoint you have a large group of people coming back from almost two weeks off that are upbeat and focused on personal improvement.  What better time to try to roll-out an improved workplace seat sharing policy!  So many of those employees have a personal resolution to spend more time with family.  Hit them with the possibility of working from home 2 days a week and you will probably improve your acceptance rate.

What about paperless office?  Tie it to personal sustainability and give people the tools and you’ll see the same results – higher acceptance rates.

There’s research that shows that it takes between 21 and 66 days to form a new habit.  You have to get a high initial adoptance level if you are going to have any hope of organic (non-dictated) success.
