A clean inbox is a happy inbox.

One of the downsides of the last month is that I have had an inbox that is spiraling out of control.  Normally I’m able to keep up on things fairly well but lately it’s been getting a bit tougher.  It’s not that I’m receiving that many more emails than before, more that I’m finding them more difficult to respond to.

Before this past month my role involved a lot of doing work.  4 hour blocks of time were my most productive situations because I could knock out big projects.  Now I have lots of 30 minute meetings and projects and no more 4 hour blocks.  And when I do get the occasional 4 hour block it gets pulled away by insta-needs that flow through the phone or inbox.

Back to the point though, for many of us our inbox is our lifeline to our business.  It’s where we make money, keep clients happy, collaborate and all kinds of crazy things.  Changing email addresses is almost harder than changing phone numbers these days.  Taking care of your inbox is a great way to take care of your job.
