The times when positivity is hardest is when it is most necessary.

In life there are things that will get us down. Sometimes it will be an hour, maybe a day. Rarer times (hopefully) it will go on for longer making us struggle with things that are usually easy. That negative cloud will circle in your head coloring everything there just a bit grey. Maybe not enough to be noticeable at any given moment but enough to make you realize you aren’t on your game.

It is exactly in these times when being positive is a requirement. To be the opposite of what you are feeling and wanting. Think of it as playing Devil’s Advocate with yourself. If everything feels like it is about to go horribly, dangerously wrong you need to stop and think of all the times things have actually gone that badly – probably only in extreme moments of your memory.

The reality is that life is typically in balance. Things never go quite as well as they could or as bad as you fear. Right in the middle is where everything floats. When on top you need to plan for the things that may bring you down and when down you need to recognize all the things fighting to keep things from going over the edge.
