This is my 1,501st post.
I was looking at my stats (something I do infrequently – maybe every 3 or 4 months) when I saw 1,500 as the count for how many posts I was at. I paused for a full 10 seconds contemplating if that could be real. Sure enough, in the over 10 years that I have been posting, I have hit 1,501 posts. Recently my volume has dropped to 1 post a week or fewer, but early on I was doing a couple of hundred a year.
If we assume 400 words per post (probably generous as this post is clocking in at just over 200, but not outside the realm of possibility), I have written 600,000 words. Novels are often 120,000 words or so. World-building fantasy novels can drift to over 300,000 words. Take all my random musings and put them together and I have some books. Unfortunately for me, my random thoughts are nowhere near as coherent as even a terribly written novel.
I pray none of you have subjected yourselves to all 1,500 of my posts. I am fairly confident even I could not go back and make it through. Apparently, I used to be young! Some of my early stuff….whew!
