I try really hard to keep this blog separate from what is happening every day at work. But much like the longer you work for a company the more your personal life bleeds into your business life, daily work situations are trying really hard to escape from my fingers to the keyboard.
But this emphasizes the importance of keeping walls of separation. Words that simply want to spill out purely for the sake of making you feel better are best kept tied in. It’s rare that good results come from words made in confusion, anger, exhaustion, excitement or joy. A degree of dispassion is always needed to put situations into perspective for how they impact others or future situations.
Walls between a public and private persona can be good. Walls between work and home can be good. Some shared space between each is necessary but it should be intentionally shared as opposed to simply available just because it feels easy at the time.
